MERCEDES SCOOPS ARAB LUXURY WORLD AWARD

Luxury automotive brand Mercedes-Benz has earned the Luxury Automobile & Services award at the Arab Luxury World PR Awards held last month at Pacha Ibiza in Dubai. The award recognised a two-stage PR campaign comprised of a media event featuring the winning Mercedes AMG Petronas team, followed by the AMG Performance Tour 2015 driving experience.

Commenting on the award Dirk Fetzer, Director Sales and Marketing at Daimler Middle East & Levant, said: “Ensuring our brand is always in the lead entails hard work, planning and continuous investment. We would like to extend our gratitude to Arab Luxury World and the panel of judges for recognizing our work. To receive this award is indeed an honour for Mercedes-Benz.”


 LAND ROVER’S SAUDI ADVENTURE

In a rather unique exercise, a team of two Saudi nationals, Faisal Binladen and Salman Sultan, embarked on an expedition in a Land Rover LR4 to trace the route of the historicSpanning 1,320km, the Hejaz railway was built by the Ottoman Empire under the supervision of a German engineer over 100 years ago, and connected Damascus in Syria with the Holy Cities of the Hejaz in KSA. Hejaz Railway. The expedition is captured in a three part documentary series highlighting some truly stunning, albeit challenging terrains across the Kingdom.

Speaking about the adventure, Salman Sultan PR, Social Media and Events Manager for Jaguar Land Rover MENA and one of the explorers on the journey, said: “Trailing the Hejaz Railway in the Land Rover LR4 allowed us to tackle environmental obstacles and conquer often challenging terrain to really embark on an extraordinary adventure tracing this unique project’s history.”

VOLVO XC90 NAMED CAR OF THE YEAR

The Volvo XC90 has been named Car of the Year 2015 and Large SUV of the Year at this year’s Auto Express New Car Awards. The XC90 is already close to selling out its entire first year’s planned production run of 50,000 cars, with over 44,000 ordered.

Renault recently unveiled their new compact executive saloon, the Talisman, and it looks very promising. With status enhancing styling that ticks all the boxes that D-segment customers expect, the Talisman builds on these cues to deliver an even higher standard of wellbeing and driving enjoyment for its class.
