If you want to combine art and culture with dining, the Radisson Blu Hotel Doha should be your pick for an evening out… FACT learns more at Picasso’s Spanish restaurant…
If you thought Doha’s dining scene lacked creativity and an artistic influence, you were wrong! For those who are tired of evenings sitting on the sofa and want to experience something different and unique, there’s a monthly happening in town that will cater to everyone.
The FACT team was invited out for a very cosy and enjoyable evening at the exquisite Picasso’s Spanish restaurant, for the ultimate painting fix. Starting from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, the Dine & Paint evening is a straight up getaway to relax and unwind for a few hours. There’s plenty of time to master your artistic talent whilst tucking into a delicious Tapas buffet including three special beverages, all for a fantastic QR225! This includes the canvas and all your painting tools – pretty awesome, right? On top of that, you get to leave with your masterpiece at the end of the evening!
We won’t lie; it was a struggle at first – we were surrounded by regulars and some really amazing artists. However, there’s no need to be afraid. Everyone is there to share, learn and absorb the fantastic atmosphere of an enjoyable evening out. For those who, like us, consider themselves amateurs or complete novices, fear not, there are plenty of beautiful sketches that you can choose from to bring out your artistic flair. There are tutors walking around to help you from something as small as how to hold a certain paint brush, to knowing what colours to mix together for the perfect painting.
As a restaurant, Picasso’s truly helps to set a fabulous mood and setting where dining meets painting. The venue carries many artistic values in its décor, and this certainly helps to get your creativity flowing throughout the evening. Not to mention that the tapas dishes are incredibly tasty! Not only did we find Dine & Paint a wonderful opportunity to share and see some colourful talents, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet people who share the same interests and passion for art, culture and food. Now, what did our final paintings look like? Let’s just say, we’ll be back for more opportunities to watch, learn and master our artistic techniques… and, for the tapas, of course!
