The brunch culture in the Middle East is second to none other, and as such, the competition is fierce. With a myriad of weekend offerings all vying for the top spot, we are indeed spoilt for choice. This month we were invited for an afternoon of what can only be described as pure indulgence at the Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain, to see why their brunch stands out from the crowd.
Being one of the groundbreaking destinations for brunchers on the island, the award-winning Mövenpick is well ahead in the foodie game, having steadily built up over the years, a reputation for their consistency of quality, fun laidback atmosphere and pure awesomeness. Be sure to skip breakfast and save yourself for the Mövenpick’s extensive variety of food (one of the largest offerings in Bahrain) spread across The Gallery, Silk’s and Flamingo Bar. Bringing some of the finest global gastronomic delights right to your table, the mouthwatering multiple buffets and live cooking stations will set your taste buds partying.
Choose from International salads and starters, oysters, lobster, shrimps and much more from the Seafood Bar, as well as Japanese sushi, tempura and dim sum. Visit the Fish and Meat Market to select your faves in a variety of cooking styles to add that personal touch: wok fried, grilled, curry or deep fried with fresh vegetables, and seasoned as you wish. The authentic Italian pasta station is a must visit and meat-lovers will drool over the Carving Station featuring succulent lamb, beef and pork. If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to save room for delicious desserts, cakes and fresh fruit or swing by the Chocolate Fountain, Crepe Station and Mövenpick’s speciality Ice Cream Bar – they’re all as yummy as they sound!
For those that prefer to end their feasting with a savoury option, The Cheese Room is the place for you, with an exclusive selection of the world’s best cheeses, (over 22 kinds) paired with nuts, fruit, jams and chutneys. Don’t forget to wash it all down with soft drinks, sparkling, red and white fruits of the vine, hop beverages and their famous Mojito and Irish coffee bars. With entertainment for adults and children alike, the whole family can get their groove on. The hotels resident DJ sets the party vibe and live performances from the inhouse Cuban band, “Black & White”, will entice you to put on your dancing shoes. Kids have their very own private section where they can be kept busy with face and henna painting, as well as the magician and balloon artist, or just chill out in front of the movie theatre. Encourage them to check out the Kid’s Power Bites Buffet, a funky initiative to provide healthy yet exciting food.
If you fancy mixing it up a bit, start your weekend off with a bang at the Mövenpick’s night brunch, dubbed the Thursday Night Out, before taking the food party onto the spectacular Friday Brunch!
