Long warm evenings, soulful tunes, eclectic cocktails and delectable cuisine under the stars – Café Amsterdam fuses the finest of ingredients for a blissful night out.
If you fancy an idyllic occasion there isn’t a more delightful combination than that of sultry jazz and dining al fresco – satisfaction guaranteed! We had the pleasure of spending a vibrant Saturday evening at Café Amsterdam’s weekly Jazz in the Garden experience listening to the soulful melodies of talented duo, Ahmed AlQasim and Noor Al Awadhi.
Performing jazzy twists of R&B and popular songs of artists like Sting and Lionel Richie as well as instrumental style pieces, this is one duo who are sure to touch your soul with their poignancy. There’s a variety of the best of Bahrain’s jazz bands that play and advance reservations are recommended as the premium spots for this classy evening fill up fast. Having recently rejuvenated their menu with fresh insights from the new chef, Joseph, Café Amsterdam’s irresistible offering is sure to set your mouth watering. Summing up their own passion with a quote from George Bernard Shaw: ‘“There is no sincerer love than the love for food.” At café Amsterdam, we love food.’ The team stays true to their word.
Select from delicious Starters, Ceviches, Salads, Burgers, Charcoal Grills from the
land and sea (European, Argentinian and American cuts), Signature Grills, Rice & Pasta, Specials and sinful Desserts. They also cater for those who prefer vegan and glutenfree options, which is a rarity in Bahrain.
A few of our personal favourites: Mexican tortillas, suited to those of you who don’t
mind getting your hands dirty; hammour ceviche – fresh and citrusy with a chilli kick; red and black quinoa, rocket, caramelised granola, goat cheese, pink grapefruit and green lemon dressing – simply divine; yummy Scottish salmon burger with pickled jalepeno and tartar sauce; melt-in the- mouth Sea bass charcoal grill; and the pumpkin ravioli with black truffle sauce and parmasan – sophisticated comfort food. Café Amsterdam’s eye-catching cocktail adventures are not-to-be-missed and most certainly pull a crowd. Serving up some of most beautiful concoctions on the island, they feature smoky liberations, craft signatures and infused spirits, created right where you sit. The venue also offers master classes by the awe-inspiring mixologists, Leo and Raafiq, who will pass on their knowledge of the intricacies of making exquisite cocktails.
Other innovative highlights to watch out for include lively swing dance classes, the Friday brunch, and the infamous Saturday brunch fusion by Café Amsterdam and La Vinoteca.
