With Multiple headlining artists, this one-day music festival at Zayed Sports City will be the very first of it’s kind in Abu Dhabi and absolutely one to mark in your calender!

Five artists, one concert! Get ready to go on a trip down memory lane as your favourite hiphop
and R’n’B artists of the 90s head to Abu Dhabi for a one-day special event! Stars like Gabrielle (famous for Dreams, Out of Reach, Rise and other hits) plus Frankfurt-based duo Snap (known for their massive club bangers like Rhythm is a Dancer and Power), alongside Arrested Development, and Freshly Ground will be hitting up the stage for a nostalgia-filled performance.

Four 90’s icons will be joined by Dubai-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Adam Baluch for seven of headline acts all under a single ticket! Visitors are encouraged to bring their own blankets and relax on the grass with friends and family – all while enjoying and singing along to great music in a chilled-out atmosphere. A wide variety of food and beverage outlets will also cater to every taste at the festival, as well as amply stocked beverage options for cooler refreshments. With cooler October temperatures, Zayed Sports City is organising the concert on the festival lawn, the perfect open-air venue for such an exciting event. Oktoberfest Outings: Where to Join in the German Festivities!

The Brauhaus tradition continues as Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi hosts its popular Oktoberfest celebrations. Get your “Ein Prosit” on everyday from 6pm until late at one of the city’s longest running German festivals. Bringing authentic traditional games, music, and seasonal food to the capital, there’s live evening entertainment from the visiting alpine band which will give plenty of opportunity for singing and swaying along to all the festival favourites.

German culinary whizz Chef Kimmig has planned a feast for all, featuring many special food items direct from Munich. Don’t miss the fine weather and Gemuetlichkeit each evening; be sure to visit Brauhaus for a lively, traditional Oktoberfest experience.

The pool garden will be transformed to create a true German party atmosphere with a live band flown in straight from Germany! Three evenings of pure Oktoberfest fun will include vibrant traditional Oom Pah music and all night entertainment. The chefs will be presenting an extensive Bavarian buffet with crunchy pretzels, sauerkraut, Bavarian dumplings, homemade sausages, mouthwatering potato salad and much more. Some of the most popular German beverages will be served fresh and ice cold, namely: Bitburger, Koenig Pilsener, Licher Wheat, Koestritzer Schwarzbier and Wernesgruener Pils Legende (try saying that really fast!).

Hops enthusiasts from across the city can gather in the hotel’s palm-tree resort for two days of Oktoberfest fun! Donning traditional outfits, the hotel’s team will welcome guests from 5pm on the Thursday and from 12.30pm on the Friday. Celebrating great German brewing traditions, the festival will feature a special Oktoberfestbier as well as some of the best German ales – for example Bitburger, Licher Weizen wheat beer, König Pilsener, Benediktiner and Köstritzer black lager.

The buffet will feature dozens of hearty dishes such as sausages and knuckles, Wiener Schnitzel, meat balls, goulash, fish specialties, potato salad, dumplings and pretzels. Dessert aficionados can indulge in an assortment of sweet temptations such as Black Forest cake, warm apple Strudel and shredded pancake. Relaxing on the sandy shores of the hotel’s lagoon, guests can enjoy live music from a popular Bavarian party band. In collaboration with du Forum, Crowne Plaza Yas Island will throw its annual mega Oktoberfest party over a massive two-day event. The festivities will feature all the traditional German Oktoberfest icons, where guests will indulge in authentic hops, pretzels, foods and good ol’ fun with a live band, straight from Munich, playing shows across the two days. ANI:ME 2016

The biggest celebration of Japanese popular culture and a regional first from the creators of the Middle East Film & Comic Con, will take place at du Forum this month!


Featuring some of the best Japanese anime, manga, cinema, music, games, fashion and culinary delights that make Japan a cultural sensation and a truly fascinating nation, ANI:ME will showcase content never seen before in the region, including some of the biggest J-Pop/Rock bands, Anisong (anime music) legends, creators of some of the most popular anime and manga titles, along with voice talent, cosplayers and artists from the world of video games. Performances by two of the most iconic anisong super groups, Jam Project and Flow, are set to thrill thousands of fans.
