Yasalam’s Epic F1 Evenings

Every year, FLASH Entertainment and Yas Marina Circuit bring the world’s biggest music stars for unbelieveable after-race concerts to entertain the F1 crowds! 2016 is no exception, in fact, things just got a whole bigger and better…

We can hardly contain our excitement for the 2016 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. So after months of speculation, back in late September, Yas Marina Circuit and FLASH Entertainment jointly revealed the full line up of world-famous music stars who will take to stage in Abu Dhabi, every night of the F1 weekend. Yasalam (#Yasalam2016) forms a programme that unites Abu Dhabi in excitement and celebration and is the largest entertainment festival run by any race host city in the world. The festival includes weeks of activations and to date has created incredible memories for over 2.5 million people. Even more festivities are yet to be revealed, including the highly-anticipated Beats on the Beach line up – the largest free concert experience in Abu Dhabi. If you haven’t heard who’s flying in for the 8th edition of Yasalam, let us tell you right now!

Chemical Brothers

Friday 25th November: The first concert of the weekend will be headed by the legendary electronic music duo that is The Chemical Brothers. Performing all of their biggest 90’s hits, including Hey Boy Hey Girl, Galvanize, Block Rockin’ Beats and Out of Control alongside more recent tracks like Swoon, The Golden Path, Wide Open, Go and the special Hunger Games soundtrack, This is Not a Game featuring Miguel and Lorde – it’s going to be loud and completely epic! For the die-hard Chem-munity, this one’s going to be an electric start to the weekend’s celebrations. Tag #ChemBrosAtF1 from the concert!

Saturday 26th November: Global superstar Lionel Richie will take to the du Arena stage on the Saturday, performing hits from his extensive and much loved repertoire, spanning decades all the way from the Commodores to now. With a celebrated career that has seen the smooth singer sell over 100 million albums worldwide and receive countless awards, including four Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar, Lionel’s shows are renowned for their party atmosphere and singalong moments. He’s recently wowed crowds at Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful and Glastonbury, where he drew record-breaking crowds. His Abu Dhabi concert is no different as fans from all over will flock to see him entertain All Night Long! Tag #LionelRichieAtF1 from the concert!

Sunday 27th November: Yaaas! Wrapping up the weekend festivities with an outof- this-world bang is probably the world’s most recognised music star of the moment, the one and only Rihanna. She’ll be playing her only Middle East date of the Anti World Tour on the final night of F1 weekend. From her days of Pon de Replay to Umbrella and now the addictive duets like Work and This Is What You Came For, Rihanna’s performance is going to be beyond incredible. Literally, the only thing that could make it any better is if she brought Drake out onto the stage (who knows, F1 weekend is all about surprises after all!). Just get ready to go wild!
