The newest drop from MG’s stable is a remarkably capable family car.

MG Motors has launched its latest model, the MG HS, a snazzy SUV, in Bahrain.

It is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that generates 170hp and 250Nm of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) launches the vehicle from 0-100km/h in 9.6 seconds, with a top speed of 195km/h.

A push-button brings the car to life and you can choose from five driving modes, including Super Sport. Impressively spacious, this five-seater has heated front seats, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat and individually folding rear seats (40/60 split). There is a large 12.3-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system that commands the dashboard and an all-new dual floating screen that smoothly integrates with your smartphone via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Six speakers belt out clear-cut audio, augmented by four USB ports and ambient multicolour interior lighting. An autodimming rear-view mirror, a panoramic sunroof and metallic sports pedals add to the athletic feel of the SUV.

The HS ensures a comfortable ride with its dual-zone automatic climate control, further amplified by a high-quality air purifier that eliminates germs and unpleasant odours. Rear air vents and a cooled compartment in the front armrest boost the comfort. The car comes outfitted with a host of safety features, including hill assist, hazard light while accelerating and parking sensors, to name a few.
