A Spoonful Of Magic!

The latest student production from the British School of Bahrain (BSB) presents the much-loved story of Mary Poppins, a family musical packed with familiar songs and fun for all ages.

BSB is gearing up to bring a classic to the stage this month with Mary Poppins Jr., a musical based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film. It is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) and features a cast of more than 40 talented high school students.

Directed by BSB’s Director of Drama, Farla Ribbonaar, the show promises to be a fun, family-friendly production full of well-known songs and theatrical energy. It is due to be held at the school premises in Hamala across three days: May 3 at 2pm and 6pm, May 4 at 6pm and May 5 at 6pm.

The fun begins before the curtain rises, with guests invited to arrive early for whimsical pre-show activities for all ages. Kids will have the opportunity to meet Mary Poppins and other characters from the show, as well as craft their very own kite that they’ll use during the iconic Let’s Go Fly a Kite scene. They’ll also be able to take part in chalk drawing on the ‘pavement’ just like the movie!

This is a chance to enjoy a much-loved story brought to life by young performers who’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes for months. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or introducing little ones to the magic of Mary Poppins for the first time, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

So, don your hats, bring your brollies and prepare for an evening of wonder and whimsy. It’s going to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The event is open to the public and tickets, priced at BD6, are available at the BSB reception, where guests can also call to book and pay via BenefitPay. ✤
