An Icon, Renewed
Porsche is celebrating 25 years of excellence with the launch of two spectacular 911 GT3 variants.
Marking the 25th anniversary of its iconic 911 GT3, a model noted for being the ultimate combination of racing genes and day-today usability since its introduction in 1999, Porsche has unveiled two remarkable iterations – the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package and the 911 GT3 with the Weissach Package, further showcasing its engineering prowess.
Ready to captivate automotive enthusiasts with their unique attributes these models will make their regional debut at the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai, UAE, on November 23 and 24.
At the heart of the new 911 GT3 is an impressive 4.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer engine that produces an exhilarating 375kW and 450Nm of torque. It boasts a final drive ratio that is 8% shorter than in the predecessor, which enhances the responsiveness and driving pleasure. With the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission, the 911 GT3 accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 311km/h, showcasing the impressive performance capabilities of this track-focussed sports car. Additionally, a new lightweight sports bucket seat with a folding backrest and a seat shell made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is available as an option.
The 911 GT3 with the Touring Package offers a more understated aesthetic. It skips the fixed rear wing for an extendable rear spoiler, which maintains the classic elegance of the 911 while ensuring aerodynamic balance using an adapted fin design and a refined underbody. The interior features high-quality leather finishes and, for the first time, an optional rear seat system that adds versatility for daily driving.
In contrast, the 911 GT3 with the Weissach Package is even more individually configurable for use on circuits. This variant introduces several lightweight components, including a roof and other structural elements made from CFRP, that significantly reduce overall weight. Additional leather and Race-Tex upholstery enhance the look of the interior. And, for the first time, the upper side of the dashboard on the 911 GT3 is covered in anti-glare Racetex. Optionally, magnesium wheels are available with the Weissach Package.
Both GT3 models showcase a sharpened design in the front and rear that enhances aerodynamics. The redesigned front diffuser, the refined shape of the spoiler lip and modified fins on the underbody further enhance downforce while ensuring optimal performance and stability.
Also, Porsche Design presents the 911 GT3 chronograph and the 911 GT3 Touring chronograph. Exceptional timepieces that translate the design and performance of the sports car to the wrist, exclusively for the car’s owners. ✤
