Athleticism Meets Excellence In Bahrain
More than 5,000 students from over 80 countries will participate in a major school sporting event taking place in the Kingdom.
Some of the most talented young athletes from across the globe will put on a showcase of extraordinary dedication and sportsmanship at the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, a major multi-sport event.
The International School Sport Federation (ISF) is a global sports governing body for school sport and the Bahrain event is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The games will last for nine consecutive days from October 23 to 31, with sporting activities being hosted at a number of private schools and universities in the Kingdom, in addition to various national sports stadiums and other facilities.
The Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 will showcase 26 sports, setting a new ISF record. The diverse sporting disciplines include archery, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, handball, padel, judo and para judo, karate, swimming and para swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis and wrestling, among others.
Amongst the 71 participating delegations, Bahrain (the hosting nation) will field the largest team with over 400 participants, while Brazil and Saudi Arabia will send delegations of more than 300 and five other countries and regions, including Azerbaijan, will have over 200 participants each.
The event serves not just as a competitive arena but also as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. Athletes will have the unique opportunity to connect, learn and share experiences with peers from diverse backgrounds and foster friendships that transcend borders.
The event’s opening and closing ceremonies will be celebrated at the prestigious Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), where participants will enjoy the festivities with a spectacular panoramic view.
Bahrain, known for its passionate sporting history, is the perfect host for this grand event. The Gymnasiade marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s journey as a sports-loving nation and reflects its commitment towards nurturing young talent and promoting athleticism on a global scale.
