The launch of an Interactive Art Education Programme has been announced by the Art Centre of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in collaboration with the Bahrain Arts Society (BAS), with the programme to be presented from August 10 alongside the first edition of the ‘almasyaf’ Summer Art Show, currently taking place at the Centre.

Running throughout August and early September, the programme will feature a series of specialised art workshops and guided tours designed to broaden creative horizons, foster a supportive environment for emerging talent and equip aspiring artists and enthusiasts with the artistic skills needed to develop their creative practice.

The programme opens with an integrated educational experience combining theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on learning through a diverse range of workshops and creative activities across a variety of artistic disciplines.

The programme begins with a workshop led by artist Sayed Hasan Alsari, taking place over three days from Monday, August 10, from 5pm to 7pm. This will be followed by ‘The Art of Sculpture Making’, presented by artist Ahmed Anan, over three days from Sunday, August 16, between 4pm and 7pm.

Artist Thoraya Amin will present ‘3D Textured Art’ on Saturday, August 22, from 10am to 1pm. On Saturday, August 29, from 10am to 2pm, artist Shaima Haji will lead a workshop introducing participants to rug making using the tufting technique.

The programme concludes with ‘The Art of Ebru’ (Water Marbling), presented by artist Yousif Alaradi, on Saturday, September 5, from 10am to 1pm.

The programme forms part of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ ongoing efforts to invest in creative talent and strengthen partnerships among artistic institutions, contributing to the continued growth of Bahrain’s cultural and artistic landscape while reinforcing the cultural and creative industries as a pillar of sustainable development.
