Bahrain Airshow Returns!
Celebrate the Kingdom’s 75-year aviation journey with the Bahrain International Airshow as it makes a comeback with its latest attractions, including a unique Aerospace Festival.
Aviation enthusiasts are in for a treat as the much-anticipated Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) returns to the island. This event will run from November 13 to 15, at Sakhir Air Base, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and the Chairman of BIAS’ Supreme Organising Committee.
The BIAS is set to introduce an exciting new experience at this year’s event, with the launch of an immersive Aerospace Festival to celebrate the 75th anniversary of aviation in the Kingdom. Open to schools, students and families, the festival will offer a unique journey through the world of aerospace, blending fascinating installations with fun-filled activities.
Visitors will experience everything from ‘boarding’ the event and exploring a futuristic ‘airport’ to enjoying aviation exhibits, carnival games and world-class flying displays. The family area features an airshow grandstand, an aviation-themed Carnival Zone, a Kids’ Zone, an aviation museum and exhibition, flying experiences, roaming entertainers and a food festival showcasing global cuisine.
One of the highlights will be an installation honouring the first human to ever fly – the Middle Eastern inventor, Abbas bin Firnas, who took flight in the ninth century with wings made of silk, wood and real feathers.
For children and young adults, the Kids’ Zone offers the chance to meet pilots, participate in workshops on aviation careers and enjoy crafting activities and flight simulators. New shaded areas will provide a comfortable place to relax while watching the airshow’s thrilling displays.
The festival also promises to be ‘Instagram-friendly’, with plenty of opportunities for selfies and photos to capture the memories.
Tickets are available online only, priced at BD5 for adults, with free entry for children under 16, who must be accompanied by an adult. ✤
