Bapco Energies renews its Title Partnership of the Bahrain Championship, welcoming world-class golf and DP World Tour stars back to the Royal Golf Club.
Golf fans, get ready for a thrilling few days, as one of the Kingdom’s most prominent international sporting events comes back to the island. Bapco Energies has signed a new agreement to return as Title Partner of the 2026 Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, continuing its support in bringing first-class golf action to the island.
The 2026 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship will be held from January 29 to February 1 at the Royal Golf Club, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. With a prize fund of USD2.75 million, the tournament follows the Dubai Invitational and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic – the first Rolex Series event of the season – as one of seven events on the DP World Tour’s International Swing.
With leading professionals from more 25 countries competing, fans can expect a world-class field led by some of the Tour’s most exciting emerging players. Newly crowned Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra is confirmed to tee it up, alongside fellow breakout talents Ángel Ayora and Elvis Smylie. Martin enjoyed an impressive 2025 season that included a win at the Turkish Airlines Open, six additional top 10 finishes and a 19th-place finish on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World.
Ángel, the 21-year-old Spaniard, pushed Martin all the way in the rookie standings, while Australian Elvis, another exciting young star, arrives in Bahrain after securing his maiden DP World Tour title earlier in the season.

Bapco Energies became Title Partner of the tournament for the first time in 2025, moving up from presenting partner in 2024. Since then, the partnership has focussed on enhancing the tournament experience for players and spectators alike, while establishing the championship as a world-class attraction. The tournament is also pioneering environmental initiatives, including powering hospitality units and structures with solar energy and batteries.
“We are pleased to renew our partnership with the DP World Tour for the 2026 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship,” said Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies. “This collaboration reflects our confidence in the tournament’s continued success and its ability to elevate Bahrain on the global sporting stage.”
