Bahrain Set For Golfing Spectacle
Mark your calendars, as the 2025 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship returns this month to host a stellar lineup of international golfers at the Royal Golf Club.
Top golfing talent will descend on the island’s shores for Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship from January 30 to February 2. The Defending champion Dylan Frittelli will tee up alongside Majors champions Pádraig Harrington and Jimmy Walker and fellow DP World Tour winners Thorbjørn Olesen and Jorge Campillo.
Last season, the DP World Tour returned to the Kingdom for the first time since 2011, and this year the event at the Royal Golf Club will once again be part of the International Swing on the Race to Dubai.
South African Dylan Frittelli claimed a third DP World Tour win and his first in seven years with a two-stroke victory on a thrilling final day in Bahrain in February last year and is looking forward to defending his title.
“It will be great to be back at Royal Golf Club, and I’m excited to see if I can make it back-to-back wins there,” said Dylan. “It’s obviously a course that I enjoy playing, and I had such a great experience in Bahrain last year. I can’t wait to return and challenge again for the title.”
Three-time Majors winner Pádraig Harrington will also make his return to Bahrain after a strong 2024 season that included three PGA TOUR Champions victories and top 10s in two Senior Majors. Equally excited to return to the Royal Golf Club is the three-time DP World Tour winner, Spaniard Jorge Campillo.
The 2016 US PGA Championship winner Jimmy Walker, who impressed on the DP World Tour in 2024, is set to make his Bahrain debut, as is Thorbjørn Olesen, eight-time DP World Tour winner.
Fans can enjoy free general admission for all four days of the event, which can be booked at manama.platinumlist.net. There is also a host of premium experiences available, including a Ticket+ option, which includes access to a dedicated bar and platform on the 18th hole. Additionally, the Championship Chalet on the 18th green comes with a full programme of entertainment, including live music, as well as food and beverage options for the whole family to enjoy.
The tournament follows the Team Cup, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic – the first Rolex Series event of the season – and the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, as one of eight events on the International Swing. ✤
