Music fans are in for a treat as Under the Palms festival gears up to change how Bahrain experiences live music, spotlighting independent artists from Bahrain and across the GCC.
Mark your calendars for April 3, when three local creative forces – Good Neighbour, Artology and Mission to the Moon – join hands to host Under the Palms, an outdoor indie music festival designed to shine light on independent alternative artists in the region.
Running from 4pm to 9pm in Artology’s garden space, the event will turn the open-air venue into a cultural gathering filled with live music, art, food, local vendors and good vibes. It will feature four acts representing a cross-GCC independent sound: Mission to the Moon (indie alternative act from Bahrain), Juniper’s Club (Bahrain-based indie band), Zamzam (indie folk band from Khobar, Saudi Arabia) and Neon Sfynx (Bahrain-based indie rock act). Together, they reflect the range and depth of alternative music emerging in the region.
More than a concert, the festival will include local vendor stalls offering vintage clothing, jewellery and small independent brands. Artology will also host interactive art activities with hands-on creative experiences, including charm making, painting and tie-dye. All performing acts will have merchandise available, giving attendees multiple ways to directly support the independent music scene.

At its core, Under the Palms aims to create a dedicated platform for indie and alternative musicians in Bahrain and across the GCC. It also seeks to encourage audiences to actively support local live music and to build a culture where people pay to experience emerging artists, not only internationally renowned headliners. By bringing music, art and community engagement together, the organisers hope to strengthen the independent creative ecosystem in a meaningful way.
With Bahrain already showing strong appreciation for large-scale concerts and mainstream performances, particularly at venues such as Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, Under the Palms hopes to shift some of that energy towards discovering and investing in regional independent talent. The goal is longterm cultural impact, normalising attendance at live shows purely for the music itself, regardless of celebrity status and supporting sustainable growth for indie artists in the region.
With registration required in advance, ticket prices are BD15 during the current presale period until the last day of Eid, BD20 after Eid until the event and BD8 for children aged 10 and under. ✤
