One of the island’s favourite chefs, Tala Bashmi, is shaking up the UAE’s culinary world with a short-term residency at one of Dubai’s boutique five-star golf resorts.

Multi-award-winning Tala Bashmi, who the public voted fact’s Chef of the Year 2025, is heading to the UAE for an exclusive two-month residency.

Tala, formerly of Fusions by Tala, who is a UN Tourism Ambassador for gastronomy, has taken over Jardin Des Arts at Address Montgomerie, Dubai, for two months, until November 1. Guests will have the opportunity to experience her modern reinterpretation of French classics in an exclusively designed pop-up menu, which will include surprising dishes, such as fish crudo, Jerusalem artichoke ravioli and a daring Gorgonzola ice cream.

Speaking during the 9th UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, held in Bahrain in November 2024, she said representing Bahraini and Arab gastronomy was an ‘honour’ that would enable her to share Bahrain’s culinary heritage with a diverse audience.

Often referred to as the Voice of Modern Khaleeji Cuisine, Tala Bashmi is a Bahrain-born and Swiss-trained chef whose culinary talent has seen her gain various accolades, including winner of the first Middle East & North Africa’s Best Female Chef Award 2022. ✤
