Gaming on the go just got better with Microsoft’s unveiling of its first handheld Xbox gaming console, the ROG Xbox Ally, developed in partnership with Asus.

Designed to bridge the gap between PC and Xbox gaming, it lets players use their digital Xbox games and Game Pass library via cloud gaming. Select PC games can also be downloaded directly to the device and it supports streaming from a user’s console, as well as access to games from various PC marketplaces. Thanks to the partnership with Asus, players can access hundreds of games.

With a seven-inch, 1080p touchscreen, the ROG Xbox Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 processor (or Z2 Extreme for the Ally X). And, boasting features such as impulse triggers and textured grips, it’s claimed to be comfortable and immersive to use. The ROG Xbox Ally will be available in two versions: the standard ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X. The base model is equipped with 16GB memory and 512GB storage, while the X version upgrades to 24GB memory and 1TB storage. The X model also includes a larger battery and a more powerful processor. ✤
