Looking for a summer activity that’s about more than keeping children busy? Gadeha Junior combines fitness, teamwork and life skills in a unique youth camp at Exhibition World Bahrain.

There’s no shortage of summer camps for children, but Gadeha Junior is taking a different approach. Held under the direction of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, the new youth training camp promises six days (per group) of physical challenges, teamwork and life skills in a military-inspired setting.

Running from August 8 to September 3 at Exhibition World Bahrain – Hall 7 and 8, the programme is open to boys and girls of all nationalities, aged 10 to 17, and has been designed to encourage self-reliance, discipline and responsibility through practical, hands-on experiences. Rather than focussing solely on sport or recreation, participants will rotate through a series of training zones that test endurance, concentration and reaction speed, while learning how to work effectively as part of a team.

Each group will complete an intensive 30-hour training experience over six days a week, with daily sessions running from 9am to 2pm. All activities take place indoors in fully equipped facilities and are supervised by specialist instructors, with exercises adapted to suit the different age groups.

The camp also introduces young people to the work of Bahrain’s military, giving them a better understanding of the role the security forces play in protecting the nation.

“The Gadeha Youth Training Camp embodies a comprehensive national vision to prepare a conscious generation capable of facing challenges, by instilling the values of discipline, self-reliance, teamwork, leadership and accountability, which builds outstanding young people committed to their national identity and [who] have a sincere sense of belonging to their country,” said His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

“We are keen to provide high-quality programmes that enable young men and women to acquire the experiences and life skills that enhance their readiness for the future and familiarise them with the significant national role played by military and security agencies in protecting the Kingdom and safeguarding its achievements, which reinforces the values of loyalty and positive citizenship.”

The camp will be split into four separate dedicated groups for boys and girls: Group 1 held from August 8 to 13 (boys), Group 2 from August 15 to 20 (boys), Group 3 from August 22 to 27 (girls) and Group 4 from August 29 to September 3 (boys).

Registration costs BD33 (including VAT), while an optional home pick-up and drop-off transport service is available for BD10.

The site will also welcome members of the public each afternoon from 3pm to 9pm through a separate ticketed experience (details to be announced), allowing families to see more of the camp environment. ✤
