Leading the range is the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, the brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV. Positioned as a premium seven-seater SUV, it offers strong performance, AWD capability, long driving range and a high-tech cabin. In global markets, the model is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission, producing a combined output of up to 315kW and 580Nm of torque. It can deliver an electric-only driving range of up to 170km and, depending on market specifications, a total driving range of around 1,250km.

While the Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 PHEV share the same flagship SUV character, luxury design, spacious seven-seat layout and advanced technology, the key distinction lies in the powertrain. The standard Tiggo 9 uses a conventional petrol engine, making it a strong and refined family SUV for customers who want performance, comfort and practicality in a premium package.

The Tiggo 9 PHEV, on the other hand, introduces Chery’s advanced plug-in hybrid technology, combining a turbo petrol engine with an electric motor system. This allows drivers to enjoy electric-only driving for daily commutes, improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and an extended total driving range for longer journeys.

The result is an SUV that combines the quiet efficiency of an electric vehicle with the long-distance confidence of a traditional petrol engine, offering families a future-ready SUV without range concerns.
