Corteo by Cirque du Soleil is set to make its debut in the Kingdom this Eid Al Fitr, bringing acrobatic artistry, live music and theatrical spectacle to Exhibition World Bahrain.
The island is gearing up to welcome Cirque du Soleil’s internationally acclaimed production, Corteo, bringing breathtaking acrobatics, striking visuals and powerful storytelling to audiences in the Kingdom for the first time.
Announced by the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) as part of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday celebrations, this global production is organised in collaboration with Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre and SES Live! and will run from March 22 to 28 at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Widely regarded as one of Cirque du Soleil’s most beloved productions, Corteo combines gravity-defying feats, evocative music and intricate set design in a theatrical experience celebrating imagination, wonder and the human spirit. Its arrival on the island marks the first time the production will be performed in the Kingdom, and it is set to be one of the highlights of the Eid season.
Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of BTEA, expressed her delight in Bahrain being selected as the first stop on the show’s Gulf tour, saying: “Corteo offers a fun and absorbing experience for the whole family, which we are happy to add to our entertainment calendar. Attracting a production of this global calibre underscores our continued commitment to advancing the objectives of Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.”

Damian Bush, CEO of Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, commented: “Corteo by Cirque du Soleil is a production that blurs the line between dream and reality, and we are proud to be part of the journey that brings this masterful performance to Bahraini audiences for the first time.”
Ali Haidary, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of SES Live!, said: “Corteo represents the scale, creativity and global calibre of experiences that today’s audiences are seeking, and we are proud to be part of this landmark moment that places Bahrain at the heart of the region’s live entertainment landscape.”
At the centre of Corteo is Mauro, a dreamer clown who imagines his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, attended by tender angels. As he reflects on his life, characters from his past appear in a joyful celebration. The production contrasts the grand with the intimate, the silly with the tragic and the beauty of perfection with the appeal of imperfection. The captivating live score, by turns lyrical and playful, carries the story through a timeless celebration where illusion teases reality.
