COOKING BY APP

The ‘Home of Arabic Cooking’, Fatafeat, has launched its world-first Arabic cooking app in Bahrain, just in time for Ramadan.

If you love cooking and are always on the lookout for new recipes and techniques, then you’re probably already a fan of Fatafeat, the region’s leading Arabic cooking channel. Well, things just got a whole lot better for our wannabe chefs with the launch of the brand’s own app which features Fatafeat’s live TV feed as well as thousands of hours of original content. The app, which is now available across the GCC as well as Jordan and Egypt, houses 20 cooking courses, 10,000-plus recipes, 2,000-plus ‘hands & pans’ videos, technical episodes to aid in improving kitchen skills, as well as more than 300 hours of some of Fatafeat’s most-loved programmes

A ‘Fatafeat Classics’ section can also be accessed within the app, which boasts upwards of 500 episodes of vintage content. During the Holy Month, a variety of engaging Ramadan-tailored content will be added to the app’s premium subscription package with five ‘hands & pans’ and ‘how-to’ videos uploaded each week, in addition to two new 10-lesson cooking courses hosted by Fatafeat’s chefs Souha Abdallah and Assia Othman. And a daily meal plan feature will be available. Taking the form of a calendar, the plan provides a daily dose of recipe inspiration every day throughout Ramadan.

Henry Windridge, senior director: marketing, digital and creative at Discovery Inc., the channel’s parent company, said: “The launch of The Fatafeat App is a momentous occasion for our home-grown Fatafeat brand. Born for the people of the region, Fatafeat continues to delight viewers, now in more places, on more devices, and in more formats than ever before.”

For USD3.99 month, or USD25.99 annually, the app gives unlimited access to Fatafeat’s live TV feed, a full catalogue of TV shows, cooking courses, tutorials and recipes. To make it even more accessible to fans, just when they need it for the extra Ramadan recipe inspiration, Fatafeat is offering a Ramadan Special discount on its annual package subscription for a limited period of time. ✤
