Driving Positive Change

Hilton Bahrain has announced the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station on its property.

This latest sustainability initiative – which provides a convenient and eco-friendly amenity for both hotel guests and visitors to the property’s restaurants and cafes – is part of Hilton Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable travel and tourism.

To inaugurate the EV charging station, Hilton Bahrain partnered with Hilton’s global partner, McLaren.

And the very first vehicle charged at the new station was the McLaren Artura.

“This partnership with Hilton Bahrain is an exciting opportunity to showcase our commitment to sustainability and the future of mobility,” said Steven Rothwell, McLaren Bahrain’s Sales Manager.

“We are proud to have our pioneering Artura model be the first to utilise this new charging station and we look forward to collaborating further to drive positive change in the automotive industry.”

Located in the hotel’s parking area, the EV charging station is available, at no cost, for use by anyone staying at or visiting Hilton Bahrain.

This is in support of Hilton’s global Travel with Purpose strategy, the company’s comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme focused on driving responsible hospitality worldwide.

“Sustainability is a core pillar of our operations at Hilton Bahrain, and we are continuously exploring new ways to integrate environmentally-conscious practices throughout our hotel,” said General Manager Tamer Farouk,.

“The introduction of this EV charging station represents an important milestone in our sustainability journey, making it easier for our guests and the local community to reduce their carbon footprint when visiting our property.”

The high-powered charging station installed at Hilton Bahrain is capable of fully replenishing the battery of most electric vehicle models in four to six hours. This provides ample time for guests to enjoy a meal, relax by the pool or take advantage of the hotel’s other on-site amenities while their car charges.

“This is a great example of how we use technology to support the environment and make it easier for our guests to reduce their carbon footprint,” added Farouk.

“The EV charger launch is just one example of how Hilton Bahrain is driving positive change and empowering our guests to make greener lifestyle choices.”

The new EV charging station at Hilton Bahrain is now open and available for use by both hotel guests and members of the general public visiting the property.
