Bang & Olufsen’s first foray into sports is small but mighty – and splurge-worthy.

Hey, remember how 2020 managed to turn an outdoor run into a luxury overnight? That memory alone ought to ease the sticker shock of Bang & Olufsen’s first foray into sports: Beoplay E8 Sport. Not only do these sleek wireless earphones pair the Danish brand’s superior sound quality with features requested by professional athletes and casual runners alike, but they’re also designed to brave the elements.

Beoplay E8 Sport is housed in a compact wireless charging case where performance-driven materials from the sports universe (read: rubber and textured silicone) and corrosion-resistant anodised aluminium (a Bang & Olufsen trademark for over 50 years) come together. Thoughtful design details such as a ridged gripped detail on the earphones help adjustments when fingers are wet and sweaty, while earphones can switch between tracks, take calls, and activate Transparency Mode with a simple tap or swipe in order to avoid stopping mid-run.

“There are three elements that people are specifically looking for in a set of sports earphones: a waterproof and customisable design that brings comfort to long runs and workouts, playtime that lasts way beyond the finish line and, most importantly, excellent sound quality – everyone tells us that nothing is more important than powerful music that can motivate, push you further, and perform at your best,” says Christoffer Poulsen, VP of Product Management.

True to the Bang & Olufsen DNA, bragging rights are involved. Here, they come courtesy of the IP57 certification that protects Beoplay E8 Sport from dust, sweat, and water intrusion of up to one meter for 30 minutes. The earphones also come with a variety of five removable ear tips and three fins for the perfect fit, so you can focus on what truly matters: music. ✤
