The MINI Countryman launches its latest all-electric version to delight eco-conscious fans.

Following MINI Cooper’s entry into the electric world, its sibling Countryman has followed suit. The latest from MINI’s stable – the new Countryman is an all-electric model that melds MINI’s classic design and state-of-the-art electric movement. With car manufacturers jumping onto the EV bandwagon, the Countryman distinguishes itself from the herd, both inside and out.

A force to reckon with

The Countryman is accessible in three versions: the MINI Countryman C with front-wheel drive; an all-wheel drive MINI Countryman S ALL-4; and an expanded output model with allwheel drive, MINI Countryman JCW ALL4. The 204hp electric motor front-wheel drive produces torque of 250Nm, launching the car from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds.

The S ALL-4 delivers 313hp, creating a combined torque of 494Nm, powering the vehicle from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds. It comes in three options: Classic, Exclusive and Sport, with each option being highly customisable. Available in a wide range of colours, there are several combinations for its dual tone with contrasting roof.

External attractions

The new all-electric MINI Countryman is bigger than its predecessors, being 13cm longer and 8cm taller. It stays true to MINI’s signature sporty style, displaying rounded headlights, minimalistic clean and sleek lines, short overhangs and a long wheelbase contrasted with large wheels. But the new SUV has amped up its looks with bolder alloy wheels and a sleeker and more aerodynamic body.

Interior comforts

The minimalistic circular design flows into the interior as well. In a world-first design concept, the instrument cluster is a rounded 240mm diameter OLED screen. The MINI Operating System 9 enables all vehicle functions to be accessed via touch or voice command.

The battery-powered Countryman is flexible on the inside. A five-seater, it can be compressed into three- and two-seater configurations. Adding to its sustainability factor, the upholstery is made of recycled polyester and comes in a range of three colours – with tan adding a touch of class. Specially knitted fabric on the dash and door panels lends an exclusively luxe feel.

A choice of three ambient modes levels up the driving experience. Core mode for a sophisticated vibe, Go-Kart mode for an adrenaline rush and Green Mode ensures an optimum drive to make the battery last longer. ✤
