FACT Dining Awards Abu Dhabi 2016: The Results

FACT Abu Dhabi Magazine hosted another glamorous awards ceremony for the second annual FACT Dining Awards, on April 19. The event was held at one of the newest dining hotspots in the city, Byblos Sur Mer at InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Over 350 guests were seen mingling, whilst enjoying a night of great company, and food and drink, as the winners from the 27 categories were announced.

The who’s who of Abu Dhabi’s hospitality industry turned out for the much-anticipated ceremony, with top GMs, F&B Directors, Chefs, Marketing and PR professionals, as well as selected Abu Dhabi bloggers in attendance. Embodying FACT’s down-to-earth and fun approach, the event was a laid-back and casual affair with lots of fabulous food, great drinks and a lively vibe.

Speaking after the event, Greg Hughes, CEO at Nans Group, said: “First, I would like to congratulate all the new winners, especially the overall category winners, Asia de Cuba and Zuma.

“We are so happy about the great turnout with nearly 400 people attending the ceremony, and everyone has had such positive feedback about it! It’s excellent to see the mutual support shared and received between the media and hospitality industry in Abu Dhabi, and we thank everyone who came out and helped us celebrate the best in the culinary scene,” he added.

The FACT Dining Awards recognises excellence in the food and beverage industry, with winners awarded based on both public vote and critics’ opinion. Each category was given two awards, which were divided into a popular choice decided through online voting, and a critic’s choice decided by an independent panel of food bloggers, the FACT editorial team and industry experts in Abu Dhabi.

Social media was abuzz too as Abu Dhabi’s dining elite shared their photos on facebook, twitter, instagram and snapchat, with the FACT team taking readers behind the scenes of the event on their snapchat story (@factmagazine).

The full winner’s list will be featured in the May issue of FACT Abu Dhabi magazine, but for now, check out some of the pics from the event here…
