The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ (BACA) cultural programme of entertainment and heritage activities – called: Gathering at the Pearling Path – being held in celebration of the Holy Month coincides with the launch of the Ramadan in Bahrain events calendar by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and will run until March 20.

The event is taking place at the Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Centre in Muharraq, running daily from 9pm to midnight. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, activities continue until 1am.

Over the course of 10 days, visitors can enjoy a wide range of cultural, heritage, and entertainment activities, including traditional music performances, educational workshops, and experiences that highlight authentic Bahraini customs and traditions related to the holy month of Ramadan.

Families and children visiting the Pearling Path will be able to participate in unique activities, including a traditional games corner, a dedicated children’s corner, with creative workshops focused on Ramadan themes such as making decorations, Gergaoon bags, Islamic mosaic patterns, and crescent moon painting.

The Celebrating Gergaoon event will take place on March 13-14 – as part of the Gathering at the Pearling Path – with participants walking in a procession from Al Ghus House to Al Jalahma House. The event will also feature performances by the Shabab Al Hidd and Qalali Folk Bands and children will be able to participate in the festivities.

Meanwhile, Haneen Sedra will feature a lecture by Dr. Abdullah Al Sulaiti, while Amarat Fakhro will host the Muharraq Auction. Additionally, BACA will offer culinary experiences showcasing popular Bahraini cuisine.
