Art enthusiasts, listen up! Pop Up Art – Middle East is a four-day exhibition, exclusive to Bahrain. Artworks on show come from artists from Syria, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as a British artist presenting exclusive works with a Middle Eastern twist. Works by Sabhan Adam, Ali Ali, Hani Alqam, Toufic Beyhum, Bortusk Leer and Adel Megdiche will be displayed, presenting an opportunity to acquire affordable art from the Arab world’s most established as well as up and coming artists.

The exhibition will be inaugurated with a premier screening of After Tomorrow, an award-winning documentary on the Bedouins of Petra, followed by a Q&A session with co-director Toufic Beyhum. The documentary will be screened at 7 pm – followed by the opening of Pop Up Art – Middle East exhibition on December 10, at 9pm in Words Bookstore Café, Palm Square, Budaiya Highway.

Audi Bahrain has come on board as the main sponsor of The Royal Golf Club’s thirteenth annual National Day Golf Tournament which will take place on December 16 and 17 on the Montgomerie championship golf course. The 36-hole, twoday tournament, which was created to promote friendship and unity between Bahrainis and expatriate residents of the island, will feature 50 expat golfers paired up with 50 Bahraini players.

The first day of competition will be played in the two player scramble format while day two will be played in the two player better ball format. The event will include an international breakfast for all the competitors on day one and a traditional Bahraini breakfast on day two, followed by a morning shotgun start on both days. Day two will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony and an East meets West lunch where the winning pair with the best two day aggregate score will be announced. Golf fans, this one’s for you!
