Apex Events have some pretty big plans for the citizens of Doha to promote Asian culture to the community. One of them includes organising the biggest Asian Musical Concert in the city, with the help of Qatar Tourism Authority, for Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s live performance later this month.
The music maestro who has taken the Qawwali genre, a form of Sufi devotional music prevalent in Southern Asia, to new heights is one of the most celebrated singers in Asia. He has performed on some of the grandest platforms in the world including the Noble Peace Prize Concert and London Film Festival, as well as winning a number of awards such Best International Act and International Artist of the Decade at the UK Asian Music Awards, and Best Male Playback Singer at both the Filmfare Awards and the Screen Awards, to name but a few. Rahat is the nephew of the world renowned Pakistani musician, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Apart from Qawwali, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is also known for his ghazals and musical contributions to film soundtracks in both Hollywood and Bollywood.Rahat

Rahat gave his first public performance at the tender age of 10, while he was touring in the UK with his uncle. He has since established a successful solo career and become a household name in Qawwali music.
