Journey Through Polynesia

Trader Vic’s is a Tiki Paradise that conjures up visions of beaches, moonlight and an exotic setting with its warm wooden clad ceiling and comfortable wicker furniture. Don’t let the relaxed atmosphere fool you, though. Executive Chef, Ruben Herrera and his team ensure every effort goes into the Trader Vic’s menu to deliver a unique fine dining experience for every guest. This February the Trader Vic’s culinary team will embark on a voyage to new climes in order to explore the flavours of other exciting destinations. The venue has already landed on the shores of various faraway places and as the sails of their ship are hoisted and the anchor raised, the course has been plotted to set off for the team’s first port of call to new culinary experiences – a Journey through Polynesia. The menu on offer consists of seven exotic dishes from Fijian Chicken Curry to Mauna Kea Lamb.

With salsa rhythms and percussions playing in the evening, the band will swiftly transport you back to atolls with picturesque beaches, turquoise water, pristine white sand, lush tropical vegetation, and the sun setting on the horizon. From 8pm until late, the mood becomes relaxed and sensual, with Latin vibes for you to enjoy!

Culture Celebrated

Spring of Culture: The Spring of Culture is back with a jam-packed calendar of exciting shows as top artists in the field of dance, theatre, art, and music as well as other cultural activities, are all set to take place across the country. These happenings highlight the Kingdom of Bahrain’s rich cultural heritage and unique historic and civil landmarks, while at the same time presenting to residents and visitors, boundless opportunities for education, exploration, and entertainment! Spring of Culture is organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the Economic Development Board, and Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, in collaboration with Albareh Art Gallery, Al Riwaq Art Space,
and La Fontaine Art Centre. This year’s programme coincides with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ new slogan, under the theme of “Our Year of Archaeology”, highlighting the Archaeological heritage of Bahrain which dates back thousands of years. With a cultural agenda acting as an archaeological guide, moving through the main sites in Bahrain to reveal some untold stories, locals and international visitors will have the perfect introduction to the rich heritage of this beautiful island.

43rd Annual Fine Arts Exhibition: Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, the Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in its 43rd edition brings together artists (both local and residents) in this annual celebration of arts. The exhibition runs for eight weeks, extending itself to the time of spring of culture. This year, the exhibition has opened its doors to welcome artists from all around the world residing in the country, for the organisers believe that art has no country or boundaries. There is also a competition; international jury members evaluate the works and three prizes are offered!

Gazing at the Contemporary World: Japanese Photography from 1970s to the Present: This outstanding exhibition at Bahrain National Museum presents the essence of contemporary Japanese photography, which reflects unique Japanese concepts and approaches while honestly dealing with issues of contemporary photographic expression shared throughout the world. The collection focuses on two main concepts; Changing Society and Changing Landscapes, through the works of 24 Japanese artists. This Exhibition is held in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Bahrain and runs until February 25
