Aalaa Redha Abbas
Marketing, Communications and Brand Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain
Congratulations on your new position. What has been the most rewarding aspect of stepping into this new leadership role and how do you hope to inspire other young Bahrainis in the hospitality industry?
The most rewarding aspect of my new role as Marketing, Communications and Brand Manager is the chance to lead innovative campaigns that significantly impact our brand’s presence. I aspire to inspire young Bahrainis in the hospitality industry by emphasising the importance of consistency, dedication and lifelong learning. I believe that these qualities not only fuel personal growth but also drive professional success. By sharing my journey and experiences, I hope to encourage them to embrace challenges, pursue their passions and recognise that their efforts can shape the future of the industry in Bahrain.
What has been your biggest or most proud personal or professional achievement?
My proudest achievement is my ability to adapt and excel across various roles and industries, despite starting without a formal marketing background. Beginning my career at Zain Bahrain, I was given the opportunity to work in the marketing department, where my passion for the field ignited. Over the years, I have successfully transitioned through roles in telecommunications, event management and now hospitality. This adaptability demonstrates my quick learning ability and commitment to delivering impactful results. My journey illustrates that with determination and a strong willingness to learn, anyone can grow and thrive in their chosen path.
Starting your career at just 17 is impressive! How did those early experiences shape your work ethic and drive for success today?
Starting my career at 17 profoundly shaped my work ethic and ambition. My early experiences at Batelco and Zain Bahrain taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability and proactive learning. I encountered various challenges that pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, fostering a strong drive for success. These formative years instilled in me a passion for marketing and a commitment to continuous improvement. Each role I undertook reinforced my belief that hard work, persistence and an eagerness to learn are essential ingredients for success, which I carry into my current leadership position today.
