FACT spent a day in the 2024 Bestune T90, a stylish and comfortable five-seater SUV showcasing ample tech and safety features.

Bestune is an automotive marque owned by the Chinese automaker, First Auto Works (FAW) Group.

Officially launched in 2006, this rising brand is establishing a solid international reputation for producing vehicles that are not only easy to look at and comfy to travel in, but equipped with useful tech.

Despite several impressive car manufacturers emerging from China in recent years, vehicles from this region sometimes still have a lingering reputation for being of a lower calibre than their Western or Asian counterparts.

After FACT spent a memorable day in the 2024 Bestune T90, compliments of Al Haddad Motors, we can easily dispel this outdated perception, as this new mid-sized luxury SUV is good enough to change this behind-the-times notion all on its own.

Refined Exterior

As we made our way around the exterior of the new Bestune T90, we were taken by its bold lines and sophisticated look.

The team at Al Haddad Motors informed us that the T90 is built on the new A2 platform under the Infinite Equation FMA architecture and features a fresh design language. The T90 deviates from the squarer shape of previous models. It is the brand’s first fully equipped option with the fourth generation ‘power, purity and perfection’ design concept.

This was apparent as we took in the front end of the vehicle. By incorporating numerous horizontal design elements, such as the ‘Haina’ frameless front grille, the designers have created a borderless effect. The clever integration of split-style headlights on both sides adds a distinctive and personalised touch to the already handsome face, as does the new digital logo.

At the flanks, the car’s waistline is instantly recognisable, as the upward line combines neatly with the rear triangular window.

Once at the back end, we appreciated the sleek rear taillight strip, the stylish integrated roof spoiler and the double-sided exhaust decoration.

The T90 is available to consumers in four exterior colours – glamorous night black, fuller silver, pearl white and bronze grey.

Spacious Interior

Before entering the vehicle, the Al Haddad team was again on-hand to provide more insight into Bestune FAW’s new design approach. It was explained that the T90 adopts the ‘ring, thin, light and hanging’ interior design concept, focussing on elegant and modern home style in the interior.

Once inside, we immediately recognised and appreciated the abundance of space provided by the well-designed cabin.

Thanks to the car’s generous wheelbase, width and height, there is plenty of leg, shoulder and head space on offer in both the front and rear seating, meaning a family of five can travel in comfort and style. The inclusion of ample storage and cubby space adds to the convenient and family-friendly nature of the vehicle.

From the comfort of the supportive, multi-adjustable front seats, we identified the presence of high-end materials used throughout the vehicle. And the inclusion of a large sunroof ensures plenty of natural light and enhances the general ambience.

User-friendly Tech & Infotainment

Shifting our attention to the included tech, we appreciated the straightforward and stylish manner in which the T90 has been equipped.

Firstly, the instrument cluster is conveniently compact, wellpositioned and features a user-friendly interface.

Secondly, the central screen is a massive vertical tab that provides immediate access to the car’s functionality and infotainment system. The configuration was both fast and easy to operate.

We noticed that the physical buttons in the SUV have been greatly simplified, adding to the efficient nature of the car’s internal setup.

Other must-mention features of this new Bestune include ventilated seats to keep you cool and comfortable, a useful heads-up display, a 360-degree camera and EasyConnection, which mirrors your phone screen onto the car’s display.

Respectable Performance

As we were fortunate enough to be test-driving the premium 2.0T 8AT Limousine model, we were pleasantly surprised by the car’s on-road capabilities.

Power wise, the Bestune T90 houses a 2.0T four-cylinder turbocharged engine coupled with an Aisin eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. This endows the vehicle with a maximum power of 185kW and maximum torque of 380Nm.

When testing the car’s acceleration capabilities, we were able to achieve a respectable 0-100km/h time of 7.7 seconds.

Cruising around the Kingdom, we remarked on how smooth the ride was, as we watched the kilometres roll effortlessly by. We were satisfied with the vehicle’s competent cornering capabilities, the efficient braking system and the overall comfort of the driving experience.

We had to agree that this vehicle is a great option for both dayto-day travelling, as well as for longer road trips.

Safety

Adding to the T90’s pleasing makeup are state-of-the-art safety features, driver assistance features and advanced connectivity options, specifically designed to keep all occupants as safe as possible and provide a seamless and exhilarating driving experience. Safety systems include lane assistance, collision warnings, active braking, park assistance, fatigue monitoring and more.

One of our favourite features was the head-up display that allows the driver to view important driving information without taking eyes off the road.

This affordable family SUV comes loaded with a host of technological features, showcases stylish internal and external designs and delivers a comfortable performance. ✤
