READY FOR TAKE OFF!

Bahrain International Airshow has announced the inclusion of a dedicated Family Area.

The Bahrain International Airshow 2022 (BIAS) has announced the release of Family Area tickets for its upcoming sixth edition of the airshow, which is taking place from November 9 to 11 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

There is an exciting array of entertainment on offer at this year’s edition with the Family Area zone open from 10am to 6pm over the course of the three-day event. Visitors can enjoy various activities, including a dedicated heritage village that will offer a variety of local products made in Bahrain, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, and a food festival, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, along with live performances from authentic Bahraini folklore bands.

Bahraini musicians, including Bu Dawas, Ahmed Al Qasim and Mohammed Al Eraied, along with band Do You Really Like It, DJ Wanasah and DJ Sarah, will perform throughout the event. While the Family Area does not include access to the aircraft exhibition area, which is restricted to aviation and business delegates, individuals and families can enjoy watching the pilots show off their skills as they perform exciting stunts in the skies above Sakhir. Visitors who book in the Family Area can also meet the pilots when they pay a visit to the zone with teams from all over the world, including the UK Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, Global Star, and the United Arab Emirates’ Cavalry team.

The Family Area will also offer a variety of entertainment for kids such as face painting, contests and games with the participation of their favourite cartoon characters. Educational and fun workshops for kids between eight and 12 years will be held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Clever Play.

Tickets for the Family Area for those aged 12 and above are priced at BD5 per day, while entry is free for children under the age of 12. Tickets can be purchased and used for one of the three days and are sold online on the Bahrain International Airshow website, at all Bahrain Post outlets, and can also be purchased directly from the event’s location at Sakhir.

Taking place at Sakhir Air Base, the event is under the supervision of HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and the Chairman of the BIAS Supreme Organising Committee. BIAS is organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Royal Bahraini Airforce in cooperation with Farnborough International. ✤
