Chinese luxury car brand Hongqi has made its Bahrain debut.

Zayani Motors has launched a new high-end Chinese automotive brand in the Kingdom named Hongqi.

A ceremony unveiled the new brand and opened the new showroom in Ma’ameer under the patronage of His Excellency Mr Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

The Chinese luxury car marque was born in 1958 and is owned by the automaker FAW Car Company and a subsidiary of FAW Group. It represents the pride of the Chinese deluxe automotive industry and is known as the go-to choice for state leaders and important foreign guests.

Four models of the car are now available on the island, including two SUVs, HS5 and HS7, as well as two sedans, H5 and H9, characterised by their elegant design, innovative technology and exceptional performance, guaranteed to redefine the luxury-car scene in Bahrain.

Available in 2WD and 4WD, the HS5 sets an example for futuristic luxury compact SUVs, with a sleek design and a modern cabin that ensures the driver and passengers enjoy a unique sense of luxury and cutting-edge safety features.

The HS7 comes with professional off-road performance, powered by TCS all-wheel power control technology, exclusively customised by Bosch. It is equipped with the new generation of eight-speed AMT transmission for a comfortable driving experience and excellent fuel economy. However, there is no compromise on the luxurious interior, which is finished with world-class Nappa leather and a solid wood decoration for the seats, and chamois leather for the roof liner.

As for the H5, the attractive look of the car paired with the design of the headlamps, inspired by an eagle spreading its wings, exhibits dynamic and distinguished characters, while the premium interior is personified by simplicity with generous leg and head room for the driver and passengers.
