Reimagining The Sporty Touring

This year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este saw the debut of the BMW Concept Speedtop – a striking small-series model built for collectors.
At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025, an annual event in Italy that celebrates classic and vintage cars, BMW Group presented a new concept car that will be made available for purchase in a small series.
An exclusive three-door interpretation of the sporty Touring, the BMW Concept Speedtop combines the elegance of a shooting brake with unique proportions. Sharing its form language with the BMW Skytop, its high-quality materials and meticulous detailing reflect the car’s craftsmanship.
“A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it’s standing still,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “And that’s also the case with our new concept car. The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterised first of all by its profile. It is very unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire lineup of vehicles, especially for the Touring models.”
The pronounced V-shape of the front end, shark-nose design, slim front lights and illuminated kidney grille give the car an unmistakable presence. A central spline continues from bonnet to rear spoiler for a dynamic Touring profile, accentuated by a colour gradient from Floating Sunstone Maroon to Floating Sundown Silver. The broad shoulders and two-tone, 14-spoke wheels enhance its athletic elegance.

Inside, traditional brogue-style details enrich the leather surfaces, emphasising the manufactory-level craftsmanship. The two-tone colour and material concept creates a connection from exterior to interior, with brown Sundown Maroon and light Moonstone White harmonising to define dynamic and functional areas. The exterior’s roof spline is mirrored as a light beam in the two-tone leather headliner, providing atmospheric illumination. The boot, also leather-covered, features brogue-style perforations and a two-section layout for multi-day luggage.
The design is further enhanced through the collaboration with Italian manufacturer Schedoni. Two storage areas behind the seats house custom Schedoni made-to-measure bags designed exclusively for the Concept, with a matching weekend bag in the boot.
The concept car doesn’t just rely on design. It is fitted with the most powerful V8 engine currently offered by BMW, delivering high performance to match its aesthetic.

“Last year, the presentation of the BMW Concept Skytop at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como generated great enthusiasm among connoisseurs and automotive enthusiasts,” said Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President BMW Brand and Product Management. “This led to a strictly limited production run of 50 units. Thanks to this positive response, this year we have decided to also offer the BMW Concept Speedtop in a limited production series of 70 units.”
The Concept Speedtop is available for collectors and enthusiasts in a limited-run small series. ✤
