A spectacular one-two finish at the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain season finale ensured TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) concluded the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season on a high note.

In an incredible show of engineering excellence, TGR came tops at the WEC season finish, setting the track ablaze with a winning performance. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries delivered a strong performance in the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hypercar, converting pole position into victory and securing the team’s ninth consecutive win at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). Teammates Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa in the No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hypercar completed the perfect result in second place, finishing just 19.378 seconds behind the No.7 crew.

The victory marked a strong end to a challenging season and builds momentum heading into 2026. TGR will return next year with an updated Toyota GR010 Hypercar and an unchanged driver lineup. Mike, Kamui and Nyck will race together for the third consecutive season, while Sébastien, Brendon and Ryo compete alongside each other for a fifth year.

“This result reflects the dedication and competitive spirit that define Toyota’s journey,” said Ebrahim K. Kanoo Director, Isa Mohammed Kanoo. “The team’s consistency, innovation and resilience throughout the season demonstrate what can be achieved when engineering excellence meets a passion for performance. We look forward to the Toyota team achieving an even stronger result in 2026.”

Adding excitement to the experience was the Toyota Fanzone, which gave spectators a dedicated space to celebrate the spirit of motorsport. The area featured interactive activities, such as a VR experience and competitions with cash prizes, as well as themed displays, as visitors enjoyed a lively atmosphere with music, games and branded experiences that highlighted Toyota’s passion for racing.

Over the years, Toyota has participated in many different forms of motorsports, including Formula One, World Rally Championship (WRC), the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race. Toyota’s participation in these events was overseen by separate entities within the company until April 2015, when Toyota established TGR, to consolidate all its motorsports activities under one in-house brand.

Representing Toyota’s belief that ‘the roads build the people, and the people build the cars’, TGR highlights the role of motorsports as a fundamental pillar of Toyota’s commitment to ‘making ever-better cars’. Harnessing years of experience gained under the extreme conditions of various motorsports events, TGR aims to forge new technologies and solutions that bring the freedom, adventure and joy of driving to everyone. ✤
