A unique origami umbrella from Ori is due to be available by the end of the year and the company boasts it will forever change the way you think about walking in the rain.

Another one that has an expected release date of late 2026, the Ori Umbrella features a frameless origami canopy with no ribs and no breaks. It folds a full-sized one-metre umbrella into a 3.5cm cylinder and has a smart handle with OLED display, one-touch opening and a wind-resistant composite design with nano coating. The advanced composite also blocks UV rays for sun protection.

The gadget boasts the Ori Display on a retina-grade screen, which gives air data and other info, and the motor and battery have been tested up to 400 opening cycles, so it’s built for extended use.

Available in gold, silver and blue, the umbrella is priced at USD249.99 and founders, who order the initial product release, will receive a founder metal card with a unique serial number. ✤
