The Island Of Adventure
Looking for fun things to do in Bahrain this summer? We have five recommendations that could truly rock your boat!
- Pearl Diving
Ever tried it? Doesn’t matter if you haven’t – but really want to. Professional instructors will help you learn the ropes and then, once you have a ‘pearl diving pass’, you can unleash your inner underwater Indiana Jones as you search for oysters.
Also, you could collect up to 60 oysters and, best of all, keep the pearls you find inside.
By the way, did you know that pearl diving is a major part of Bahrain’s heritage and that Bahraini pearls have been considered the best natural pearls in the world for 2,000 years?
- Kayaking
And, not just anywhere. Imagine paddling your kayak through the mangrove forest in Tubli Bay, in Bahrain’s northeast, which is home to a protected ecosystem and more than 65 species of wildlife, including diverse bird and marine species?
You could also learn more about the rich biodiversity in the bay by joining a mangrove tour.
- Water Sports
Fancy flyboarding, jet skiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and wakeboarding?
Head to Amwaj Islands – the man-made island paradise, constructed in 2003 – where you’ll be sure to find your adrenaline pumping as you indulge in your favourite water sports in calm lagoons with steady winds. You could also go kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing, if you wish.
And, away from the water, you could go for a round on the golf course, seek some retail therapy at world-class shopping malls, indulge in some fine dining and check out the upscale hotels and resorts.
- Sailing Adventure
Ever seen Bahrain’s breathtaking beauty from the sea?
If you’d like to, set your course for the Bahrain Sailing Club at the Al Jazayer Beach in Zallaq, rent a nice boat and take in some glorious sunsets.
You also have the option to stay overnight if you so choose. So don’t wait. Make a plan immediately! We promise it’ll be even better than you can imagine!
- Snorkelling
Have you been to Al Dar Islands? Did you know that you have to take a 10-minute boat ride to reach what is locally known as a snorkeller’s dream? Do you know that you could also go kayaking, get some good fishing in and, best of all, do some dolphin watching. (Yes, that’s a thing!)
And do you know that you’ll be captivated by the sightings of different kinds of marine life in clear, shallow waters?
Also, do you know that once you’re in the water yourself, you’ll encounter exotic species of fish, see colourful coral reefs up close and even discover ancient shipwrecks?
You could also try out a guided snorkelling tour and, if so inclined, stay overnight at one of the very exclusive chalets.
So, how about upping your anchor and making some plans?
