InterContinental Bahrain unveiled the Alwan II Art Exhibition at Noor Lounge, held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain’s National Council for Arts.

H.E. Sheikh Rashid was present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which is in its second edition, along with Philipp Economou, GM of InterContinental Bahrain and hotel manager Mohammed Sanad; Amena Shahrukh, Founder and Director of Shahzaib’s Clubhouse and Gloria Anthony, Partner.

This year’s exhibition, launched as part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ annual Giving for Good month, carries a special significance. In collaboration with Shahzaib’s Clubhouse, a dedicated non-profit organisation supporting children with special needs, the initiative has created a heart-warming platform for young artists to express themselves through the power of art.

Ahead of the exhibition, the children of Shahzaib’s Clubhouse participated in a creative workshop with renowned Bahraini artist Abbas Al Mosawi at his studio. As a gesture of appreciation, they presented InterContinental Bahrain with a large artwork symbolising gratitude and community.

“Art is a universal language of expression, and through Alwan II we are proud to create an inclusive platform where children with special needs can showcase their creativity and talent,” Philipp said.

“This exhibition truly embodies the spirit of Giving for Good – touching lives, inspiring hope and building meaningful connections with our community.”

Amena added: “This collaboration means the world to our children. Many of them have never had the chance to display their creativity in such a prestigious setting.

“InterContinental Bahrain has given them not just a platform, but also the confidence that their voices and stories matter. The joy and pride they feel today is immeasurable.”

Since its launch in 2018, Giving for Good month has mobilised IHG colleagues globally to deliver more than 300,000 acts of kindness in local communities, reflecting the group’s Journey to Tomorrow 2030 commitment to positively impact 30 million lives worldwide.

The Alwan II Art Exhibition will be on display at Noor Lounge, InterContinental Bahrain, from September 20-22 between 10am and 10pm.
