US BASKETBALL STAR HEADED TO BAHRAIN.

Former Morgan State Bear DeWayne Jackson has signed with the Kingdom’s Muharraq to play in the Premier League for the 2021-2022 season.

Jackson, 30, a 6ft 8in forward, has played across the Middle East, most recently at Ahly Tripoli in the Libyan D1 league, where he contributed to victories in the league title and the cup. As a result of his standout performance during the season, he was awarded Afrobasket.com AllLibyan League Import Player of the Year and was selected to the All-Imports Team.

During the 2019-2020 season he hit the court for Al Sharjah, in UAE, where he helped the team triumph to take the league title. He also played for Sigal Prishtina in The Kosovan Superliga where, in three games, he recorded 11 ppg, 3 rpg and 1.7 apg.

As well as North America, the impressive forward has also played professionally in Bulgaria and Lebanon with scouts describing him as: “One of the fastest, strongest, and best ball handling wings in Europe. Jackson has high stats in every category and, with his height, cannot be guarded one-on-one on perimeter. He is also able to shoot from three consistently, and can defend at any position. [A] very similar style of game with Kevin Durant.” ✤
