Al Haddad Motors, the general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Bahrain, held a fun event showcasing the exciting new EQ range of premium electric vehicles (EV).

As part of the brand’s plans to move reliably into the future and provide customers a new driving experience, the Mercedes-Benz EQ electric cars have been designed to combine emission-free driving with impressive functionality and outstanding aesthetics.

The event was attended by local media teams who had a chance to learn more about the latest EQ range, as well as get behind the wheel for a first-hand experience driving the different models that included the EQA 350 4MATIC, EQB 350 4MATIC, EQS 450 4MATIC SUV and the EQS 450+ Sedan.

All models of the EQ line up boast higher standards, short charging times and relaxed rides. The EQA 350 and the EQB 350 both come with a powerful electric motor that delivers 292hp and a peak torque of 520Nm. The vehicles feature a 66.5kWh battery allowing for travel of between 400km to 500km on a single charge. Both models flaunt a sleek and stylish exterior design with spacious and comfortable interiors that are adorned with the latest multimedia technology.

The EQS 450+ Sedan offers a robust electric motor that delivers 333hp along with a total torque of 568Nm. The vehicle features a 108.4kWh battery offering around 632km on a single charge. The model displays a striking exterior with an archer’s bow design that stretches the bodywork over the cabin in a taut, coupe like silhouette that evokes a futuristic appearance. The vehicle’s interior is lined with splendid, high-quality materials and outfitted with numerous luxurious amenities optimised for comfort such as heated-and-ventilated front and rear seats, massage for the front seat passengers and four-zone automatic climate control. A panoramic sliding sunroof gives a wonderful feeling of bright and pleasant ambience in the interior. While paddles on the steering wheel let the driver vary the intensity of energy recuperated by deceleration and braking during normal driving.

Additionally, as an alternative to the saloon is the EQS 450 4MATIC SUV which an electric motor that delivers a notable 360hp with a peak torque of 800Nm. The model comes with a 108.4kWh battery that provides for a range of around 632km on a single charge. The SUV shares numerous similarities with the EQS Sedan in terms of luxury amenities but offers a third row and seating for up to seven making it a spacious and much more appealing choice for families. Extra headroom adds to the roominess of the interior while all the materials and fittings used are high-end. The front panel is adorned with a remarkable 56-inch wide MBUX multimedia Hyperscreen that boasts three displays under a curved glass surface and comes with the latest generation of MBUX with Augmented Reality Navigation System.

As part of the car show, invited guests were given the opportunity to test the models of the EQ range on the roads around the Kingdom. The day kicked off at the Mercedes-Benz Al Haddad Motors showroom in Tubli and then carried on as they drove to Dilmunia Island, Seef and many other spots. At each pitstop attendees swapped cars and experienced not just the drive but also the advanced technologies offered by each of the models.

At the event, Imran Ali, Marketing Manager at Al Haddad Motors, highlighted that the EQ range is the best pick for those who are environmentally conscious but still value the best-in-class luxury that Mercedes offers.
