Step into the world of Jane Austen as the Manama Theatre Club enchants audiences with an exquisite rendition of Pride & Prejudice.

Jane Austen fans are in for a treat as Manama Theatre Club (MTC) gears up to bring the classic masterpiece Pride & Prejudice to life at The British Club on February 6, 7, 9 and 10.

The theatrical production, based on the famous novel of the same name, is set in the South of England and explores the intricacies of society as Mrs Bennett orchestrates her daughters’ destinies. The story follows the Bennet family’s five unmarried daughters, as Jane and Mr Bingley indulge in sweet romance, Lydia is captivated with Mr Wickham and Elizabeth staunchly refuses the disdainful Mr Collins and the brooding Mr Darcy, whom she secretly adores. Amidst the struggle against societal norms, Darcy battles his own pride, setting the stage for a riveting clash of convictions.

Under the direction of Gail Knappett and producers Hannah Turner and J Lisa Rebello, MTC promises an evening filled with love, laughter and timeless drama. Taking the audience on a journey through time and love, the stage will come alive with Daho Abidat as Mr Bennet, Hannah Turner as Mrs Bennet, Maryam Rashed Almoosa as the spirited Elizabeth Bennet and Chris Cheval as Mr Darcy.

With each character navigating the tumultuous waters of love and societal norms, don’t miss the chance to uncover this wellknown tale, where pride and prejudice meet halfway.

The Manama Theatre Club, a community of amateur drama enthusiasts, serves as the drama section of The British Club. Comprising volunteers, from seasoned professionals to complete amateurs, the MTC welcomes all who are passionate about theatre, whether as performers, directors, tech whizzes or even those keen on administrative tasks. The MTC organises a variety of events annually, ranging from plays to pantomimes to improv workshops and socials.
